National Water Research Institute of Malaysia, through the Water Quality and Environment Research Centre (PKKAAS), conducted a site visit to its weather station located at Durian Tunggal Dam on 26 April 2026.
The visit was led by the Director of the Water Quality and Environment Research Centre, together with NAHRIM research officers. The main objective of the visit was to assess the current condition of the weather station and identify areas for improvement to support future water and environmental research planning.
During the visit, the delegation conducted field observations and technical discussions on the functionality and effectiveness of the station in hydrometeorological data collection. These data are crucial in supporting studies related to water resources, climate change, and dam management. Appreciation is extended to Badan Kawal Selia Air (BKSA) Melaka and Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB) for their cooperation in facilitating the placement of the station at Durian Tunggal Dam, Melaka.
NAHRIM remains committed to strengthening data-driven research and ensuring monitoring infrastructure is maintained at an optimal level for the sustainability of the nation’s water resources.
