One of the stopover locations for the PETRA Squad Sarawak Tour was at the National NRW Project site at the Sungai Lumut Booster Pump Station, Kuching.
During the visit by YAB Dato’ Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, a Project Completion Handover Ceremony was also held as a symbol of the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the water supply system and reducing NRW rates.
This programme is part of the Government’s strategic initiative to reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW), which includes the replacement of SIV meters, consumer meters, enhancement of tank control systems, and data-based monitoring (GIS).
The handover marks another significant milestone in efforts to enhance the efficiency of the water supply system while ensuring more sustainable, resilient, and high-quality services for the people.
Also present was YBrs. Ir. Ts. Anita binti Mohamed Shafie, Director General of the Department of Water Supply, who remains committed to ensuring the smooth implementation of water sector initiatives.
It is hoped that this initiative will continue to deliver positive impacts in strengthening the nation’s water sector.
