28-29 JANUARY 2026 | LONG-TERM OCEANOGRAPHY DATA COLLECTION AT PORT DICKSON WATERS
The data collection team from the Coastal and Oceanography Research Centre (PKPO) successfully conducted AWAC retrieval and re-deployment activities in the waters of Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
This station is an integral component of the national sea-level rise and climate change monitoring network. Since its first installation in 2021, the station is now entering its 6th year of operation in providing vital environmental data.
The high-resolution data gathered through these AWAC instruments transcends mere statistics; it provides the fundamental insights required to understand local hydrodynamic patterns, wave energy shifts, and sea-level rise trends.
These ongoing efforts aim to strengthen mitigation and adaptation strategies to safeguard our coastlines and communities from the impacts of extreme weather and rising sea levels.
