A discussion session on the Research Scope Direction for Mapping Malaysia’s Blue Renewable Energy (RE) Resources, a collaborative effort between NAHRIM and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), took place at SEDA, Cyberjaya on 18 May 2026. The main objective of this strategic meeting was to formulate steps and methodologies to comprehensively identify and map the potential of wave energy resources in Malaysian waters based on the analysis of ocean parameters.
Through this initiative, both parties hope to establish a precise technical and scientific baseline database to support the development of pilot wave energy projects in the country moving forward. This pioneering effort is also a crucial target for NAHRIM in driving the growth of the Blue Economy, while supporting the national energy transition agenda to achieve environmental sustainability and the advancement of green technology.
