On 8 April 2026, a total of 29 diploma students and 2 accompanying lecturers from the Department of Civil Engineering, Politeknik Merlimau, Melaka participated in a water quality analysis practical at the Water Quality Laboratory, NAHRIM. The practical covered Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) tests, including sampling techniques, analysis, and data assessment.
The program aimed to provide students with practical exposure to water quality analysis using real laboratory facilities, thereby enhancing their understanding in the field of environmental engineering as well as strengthening theoretical learning in the classroom. NAHRIM, as the national water research institute, supports capacity building and the advancement of the nation’s water-related expertise.
