Research Objectives

The objectives of the study are:

1.To study the impact of land use changes and climate change on the security and sustainability of the Sungai Padas catchment;

2.To formulate solutions to achieve a balanced river morphology based on numerical sediment transport models;

3.To develop strategies to minimize the effects of erosion and sedimentation along the rivers; and

4.To develop a digital map depicting the river morphology and balance for the following scenarios: impact of development or land use changes, impact of climate change, and the combined impact of development and climate change.
