9 December 2025 | NAHRIM attended the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Meeting for the Malaysia National Adaptation Plan (MyNAP) No. 3/2025, held at Mercure Living, Putrajaya.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ahmad Farid bin Mohammed, Undersecretary of the Climate Change Division, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES). The session discussed the progress of MyNAP project implementation and coordinated follow-up actions related to climate change adaptation across ministries and implementing agencies.
Key areas of focus included:
Confirmation of meeting minutes and review of outstanding action items,
Progress updates on project operations and expenditure presented by GIZ and implementing agencies,
Direction and engagement plans with the MyNAP Technical Working Group (TWG),
Access to hydro-climate projection data related to MyNAP,
Alignment of work plans and implementation timelines for 2025–2026.
The meeting also addressed implementation challenges from technical, administrative, and legal perspectives, including improvements in grant management and strengthening collaboration between NAHRIM, GIZ, and other implementation partners.
NAHRIM’s participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting the national climate change adaptation agenda, in line with MyNAP’s aspirations and Malaysia’s priorities in building long-term climate resilience.
This meeting marks an important step towards enhancing strategic and integrated coordination of climate adaptation efforts in Malaysia.
