7 APRIL 2026 | DISCUSSION WITH SURECHEM REGARDING WATER QUALITY MONITORING PRODUCTS.
The National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) today received a visit from SURECHEM company for a technical presentation session on water quality monitoring products.
The discussion was chaired by the Deputy Director General of NAHRIM, Ir. Ts. Gs. Dr. Safari bin Hj Mat Desa, and was attended by officers from the Water Quality and Environmental Research
Centre and the Water Quality Laboratory NAHRIM. The Wimo Sonde is a multiparameter sonde-type water quality monitoring device capable of measuring various parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, temperature, and salinity in real time. The device is designed to be robust, capable of operating at depths of up to 200 metres, and is compatible with solar panels for long-term autonomous operation. It is equipped with a wireless telemetry module (GSM/GPRS/LoRa) for data transmission to a control centre, as well as the capacity to store more than 100,000 data records locally. The discussion focused on the device’s reliability in recording data over extended periods, the capability of integrating the Wimo Sonde with physical wave, tidal, and ocean current data, as well as the maintenance of the device in a cost-effective manner in remote areas lacking an data monitoring system
