The two days workshop, held from 14 to 15 April 2026 at Cyberview Lodge Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya, was attended by a total of 60 participants. The workshop successfully involved 46 agencies, comprising 15 Federal Government agencies, 17 State Government agencies, 8 Corporations/ Statutory Bodies/ GLCs, 1 Local Authority, and 4 private sector companies.
The closing session of the workshop was delivered by the Director of the Water Quality and Environment Research Centre (PKKAAS), Gs. Hj. Khairul Anam Musa, while the official closing ceremony was officiated by the Director General of NAHRIM, YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Hj. Nasehir Khan E. M. Yahaya. A total of 12 presentation sessions were delivered by three presenters, comprising officers from the PKKAAS and the Hydrogeology Research Centre (PKH), namely Ts. Mohd Fadhil Kasim, Pn. Nor Sahidah Jamaludin, and Dr. Zati binti Sharip
Overall, the key takeaways from the workshop’s question and answer sessions significantly contributed to the refinement and strengthening of the finalisation of the Floating Solar Panel Installation Guidelines, through comprehensive input from all participating regulatory, technical, utility, health, water resource, and industry agencies. The discussions focused on environmental compliance, water quality, public safety, technical aspects of installation, operation and maintenance, the suitability of multipurpose reservoirs, as well as policy and governance coordination among agencies. This consolidated input ensures that the final guidelines produced will be more practical, comprehensive, and suitable for nationwide adoption.
