TINJAUAN TAPAK BERPOTENSI UNTUK PROGRAM PERINTIS BIOKOMPOSTER TEKNOLOGI TEMPATAN DI PUTRAJAYA

A site visit was carried out to assess potential locations for the implementation of the Local Green Technology Biocomposter Pilot Program at two (2) locations, namely Presint 9 Food Court and Presint 4 Farmers’ Market, Putrajaya. The site visit and discussion were attended by three officers from the National Hydraulic Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM), 12 officers from Perbadanan Putrajaya, an officer from the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) and a representative from the Presint 9 Food Court trader’s association.

This strategic collaborative visit aimed to evaluate the suitability of the locations for the implementation of the Local Green Technology Biocomposter Pilot Program, which is expected to have a positive impact on local environmental sustainability. It also represents a proactive initial step in advancing organic waste (food waste) recycling technology into bio-organic soil enhancers, while reducing dependence on landfill disposal sites and imported fertilizers. It is hoped that this initiative will serve as a new benchmark towards sustainable urban development in Malaysia.
