6 January 2026 | The National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) received an academic visit from the Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), led by its Director, Prof. Ir. Dr. Aduwati Sali. The delegation also included Dr. Usama Kadri from Cardiff University, who is currently undertaking an attachment programme at INSPEM.
The visit aimed to facilitate knowledge sharing and explore potential research collaboration in Acoustic Gravity Waves as well as the development of a tsunami forecasting system in Malaysia. The INSPEM delegation was also given a tour of the physical modelling facilities at the Hydraulics and Instrumentation Laboratory (MHI). It is hoped that this visit will further stimulate research and development activities at NAHRIM.
