22 April 2026 | A Microplastics Workshop was organized by the Institute for Medical Research (IMR) and Agilent Technologies at IMR Setia Alam. The workshop was attended by 40 participants from government agencies, universities, and the private sector, both local and international, including NAHRIM. During the workshop, ChM Nor Salmi Abdullah delivered a presentation titled “Quantifying the Invisible: Method Validation and Current State of Microplastics in Selected Riverine Systems.” In addition to knowledge sharing sessions, participants were also introduced to the principles and applications of Laser Direct Infrared (LDIR) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy equipment used in microplastics detection.
