18 NOVEMBER 2025 | MALAYSIA AT ASEAN PAVILION, COP30
NAHRIM is honoured to represent Malaysia at the ASEAN Pavilion, COP30, sharing our national experience in future-proofing water and coastal infrastructure against intensifying climate risks.
As Malaysia’s lead Government technical research institute for hydrology, hydro-climate modelling and coastal resilience, NAHRIM provides the scientific backbone for the country’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP), National Communications (NC4) and long-term Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies.
At the session “Future-Proofing Infrastructure: Climate Adaptation”, NAHRIM highlighted:
🔹 High-resolution hydro-climate modelling aligned with IPCC AR5 regional downscaling requirements for Malaysia
🔹 Flood simulation and hazard mapping for 37 major river basins in the country
🔹 Malaysia Sea Level Rise Monitoring Network (MySLR)
🔹 Coastal inundation, erosion and shoreline vulnerability research
🔹 Water Resources studies including Coastal Dams and emerging water pollutants
Climate Action begins with strong climate intelligence.
NAHRIM remains committed to advancing evidence-based solutions that protect Malaysia’s water security, safeguard coastal communities, and strengthen national resilience in a changing climate
In short, NAHRIM is championing Malaysia’s climate-resilient water knowledge hub, bridging science, engineering, and national policy. We are proud to bring this expertise to the ASEAN Pavilion, and to collaborate with regional partners in building a climate-resilient future for Southeast Asia Region
