A meeting was held at Bilik Mesyuarat Tingkat 19, Menara DBKL 3, Kuala Lumpur, to present a proposal to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) for the installation of the Multifunction Water Purification Device (MWPD) to control algae at the Kepong Metropolitan Lake, Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Water Quality and Environment Research Centre, National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM), DBKL, and ORS Technologies Sdn. Bhd. The MWPD, which originates from Korea, is a device capable of improving the flow and mixing of water between the lake surface and its bottom to prevent algal blooms and lake stratification. DBKL welcomed the proposal, and further discussions will be held in the future.
A site survey at the Kepong Metropolitan Lake, Kuala Lumpur, was also conducted in the afternoon to visually assess the condition of the lake and identify potential locations for the installation of the MWPD.
