
Introduction
NAHRIM (National Hydraulic
Research Institute of Malaysia) has been accepted as
the candidate APWF Water Knowledge Hub for Climate
Change Adaptation (WKHCCA) and this has been
endorsed by the Malaysian Government through a
Cabinet Directive.
NAHRIM is a full government department of Malaysia,
set up in the light of increasing challenges facing
Malaysia in water related issues such as escalating
floods and droughts events, deteriorating water
quality in rivers and coastal bodies, competing
users and other water related issues such as
erosion, accretion, sedimentation etc, and not least
the impending anticipated impact of climate change
on water.
At the moment NAHRIM have 6 technical
division/research centers as given below:
i. Research Centre for Water Resources
ii. Research Centre for Rivers
iii. Research Centre for Coastal
iv. Research Centre for Water Quality
v. Research Centre for GeoHydrology
vi. Hydraulic and Instrumentation Laboratory
It is further supported by 3 management support divisions as given below:

Management Services Divisionii. Information Technology and Communication Division
iii. Planning
and Evaluation Division
The WKH for Climate Change Adaptation is
currently under the directive of the Director,
Research Centre for Water Resources.
