Water Quality Laboratory

1. Functions of Water Quality Laboratory, NAHRIM can be translated as follows: :-

  • Administrate and manage the operation of Water Quality Laboratory in accordance with recognized accredited laboratory management, coordinating the implementation of the quality system in accordance with MS ISO / IEC 17025 and follow the guidelines of Laboratory Accreditation Scheme of Malaysia (SAMM);
  • To plan, manage and improve the policies, guidelines and water quality analytical services in the laboratory;
  • Manage a centralized database, to properly store and provide analytical data of water quality analysis produced in the laboratory;
  • To provide support for water quality analysis as part of research and development in the field of water and environment;
  • To conduct research and product development related to water quality and environment.

2. Below are the list of analytical and research facilities in Water Quality Laboratory

i. Analytical

a) Aggregate Organic

• Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)

ii. Penyelidikan

  • Penyelidikan Metodologi Makmal untuk Peningkatan Kualiti dan Kapasiti Perkhidmatan Analitikal yang menyokong Penyelidikan Air Negara – Analitikal Kimia dan Mikrobiologi
  • Penyelidikan Kualiti Air bagi tujuan menangani masalah Bahan Pencemar Kompleks Endocrine Disruptor Chemicals (EDC)
  • Penyelidikan Pembangunan Kepelbagaian Produk Inovasi Mesra Alam dalam meningkatkan Kualiti Air dan Persekitarannya (Bioflocculant, Activated Carbon, Nanofiltration Membranes, Polypropylene Filter)
  • Penyelidikan Biodigester bagi mengurangkan bahan pencemar organik dari sisa haiwan di Zoo Negara
  • Penyelidikan Aplikasi Produk Inovasi Rawatan Air Mesra Alam ‘Bioflocculant’ berasaskan ‘Moringa Oleifera’ (Laboratory experiment, Optimization study, Commercial Business Case Study, Pilot Plant Bioflocculant
  • Kajian Peningkatan Kualiti Air Tasik Tunku Abdul Rahman, Zoo Negara
  • Kajian Penilaian Kualiti Air Sistem Pengumpulan Air Hujan (SPAH), Rumah Panjang Bair, Betong bagi tujuan air minuman.
  • Kajian Penilaian Kualiti Air Sistem Pengumpulan Air Hujan (SPAH) NAHRIM bagi tujuan air minum pembotolan.
  • Pemantauan Kualiti Air Tasik Taman Botani Perdana - Akreditasi makmal MS/ISO IEC 17025
