This 2-days seminar was attended by more than 80 participants from various government and public agencies and institutions.

The main objective of this seminar is to promote the use of statistics in hydraulic and hydrology research and development. JoSSH 2013 is also one of the activities carried out in conjunction with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NAHRIM and UPM which has been signed on February 20th 2012.

The seminar was officiated by Director of INSPEM, YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Hj. Kamel Ariffin Bin Mohd Atan. Then it was followed by Keynote Address by Director General of NAHRIM, Ir. Hj. Ahmad Jamalluddin Bin Shaaban with presentation entitled 'Strengthening Hydraulic and Hydrologic Research with Statistics’.

The Technical Session was chaired by Ir. Hj. Mohd Radzi Bin Abd Hamid, Director of Research Centre for Coastal Management NAHRIM. The session started with a technical paper presentation by Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Jemain from UKM and followed by Mr. Anuar Shafie from NAHRIM. The afternoon Technical Session was chaired by Assoc. It has also managed to disseminate information on the statistical hydraulic and hydrology and its importance usage to evaluate Malaysia’s environment condition. It is hoped that this Joint Seminar will be the first step between NAHRIM and UPM, towards more collaboration in future research and development studies for the betterment of the country. It is also hope that this seminar will be an annual event for NAHRIM and UPM in the future.
