NAHRIM Research Seminar and Open Day. January 29, 2013.

    On January 29, 2013, NAHRIM held a research seminar and an open day. The event was officiated by the YBhg. Dato' Dr. Mohd Ali bin Mohamad Nor, Deputy Secretary General I (Natural Resources), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE).

    Modeling was the theme of the seminar which aims to highlight among the methods used by NAHRIM in performing research, and case studies which were conducted in 2012. A total of six technical papers from the research centre of river management, water resources, coastal management, geohydrology and Hydraulic and Instrumentation Laboratory have been presented. The seminar received an overwhelming response when 103 participants comprising government officials, staff, local authority officials, researchers, lecturers, consultants and students participated in the seminar. 
   NAHRIM also provide exhibition booth which were joined by the Department of Environment Malaysia (DOE) and the Malaysia Meteorological Department (MET). A number of research posters were displayed and technical publications of NAHRIM for the year 2012 were distributed.
   During the event, NAHRIM signed a Product Commercialisation Agreement for Smart Drainage Trap (SMADRAT) with Global Muslim Intellect Sdn. Bhd. The company, also the co-owners of patent for SMADRAT agreed to commercialise it. This is the first time NAHRIM signed a similar agreement.
  As a result of its Open Day, NAHRIM welcomed 247 new strategic partners consisting of students, individual researchers, lecturers and consultants.
